Hey there, I'm Kristina Modares!
I’m the founder of Open House Education, and the host of the Open House Education Community. You can check it out here!
I started Open House Education because I was searching for a welcoming and inspiring place to talk about real estate—somewhere that didn't feel so cold, calculated, and all about the numbers. I wanted a space where women could confide in each other, not hold back on sharing their dreams, discuss real estate strategies that actually work, voice their concerns, and grow together.
OUR STORY
My thing has always been getting creative with real estate. By thinking outside the box and trying unconventional strategies, I've been able to make real estate work for my financial goals and lifestyle. Creative real estate is all about breaking away from the traditional way of doing things and showing that:
You don't need to be married to buy a house.
Your first home can—and should—be an investment.
Your first home could even be a vacation home.
You can buy a house with friends.
You can own property and still travel the world.
Real estate can be fun, creative, and profitable.
why I Chose real estate investing
When did this all start? Back in my early 20s, I tried to buy my first house. I quickly realized how confusing the whole process was. Everywhere I turned, I was surrounded by big egos and pushy salespeople—it was super frustrating. So, I decided to dive headfirst into real estate, spending the next ten years learning everything I could by actually doing it. Along the way, I brought as many women with me as I could.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
MY life-changing investment
One of my favorite experiences so far has been buying a beach house with my sister when I was 29 and she was 27. We couldn't believe it—we always thought owning a beach house was out of reach. But here we are, making it happen. That experience was a total game-changer and made me even more passionate about helping other women achieve their real estate dreams.
